We were delighted to welcome approximately 65 students and staff from 11 Presentation schools throughout Australia, to St Rita's College, Clayfield, QLD for our NEAA Student Conference, from Tuesday 20 August until Friday 23 August 2024.
Students were welcomed to the college and invited to share in a whole school liturgy on the opening afternoon. Following afternoon tea, students listened to panelists sharing their views on Being Presentation. The next day the students were involved in First Nations Workshops and activities at the State Library of Queensland. Back at St Rita's on Thursday, students rotated through a series of social justice workshops and in the evening we held the conference dinner, listened to a keynote speaker on Zero Waste and enjoyed some relaxed time together. Friday morning saw everyone gather back at St Rita's for a closing Eucharist and then it was time to say our farewells and head back to our respective states.
NEAA thanks all staff from the participating schools who also attended the conference and supported the activities and events over the four days.
Our sincere thanks to St Rita's College for hosting our 2024 Student conference and in particular Erica Qureshi (Assistant Principal Mission) and Lorraine Specogna.
We are pleased to announce that our 2026 Student Conference will be hosted by Iona Presentation College in Perth, WA.
